We are seeking Pipefitter Improver to become part of our team!
Your responsibilities will include:
- The pipefitter helper will be responsible for assisting in removing, repairing, targeting, laying out, marine piping systems such as auxiliary salt water, fire main, potable water, hydraulic, compressed air, fuel, oil, engine exhaust in accordance with NAVSEA/Military standards and drawings.
- Run lines and leads required to accomplish work and accomplish drop test if using flammable or oxygen depleting gases.
- Assist with measuring and templating pipe.
- Remove damaged pipes as directed by higher level pipefitters.
Requirements for this role include:
- Pipefitter Improver must able to interpret marine blueprints, drawings and schematics.
- Must have basic knowledge of ship repair terminology and ship compartment.
- Must have at least 2 years of shipyard pipefitting experience.
- Must have basic knowledge of pipefitting and pipefitting theory.
- Basic math such as add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Must be able to use and read a tape measure.
