Major bottling plant with proprietary equipment, Southern California

Workforce Scope

The client hired LEAD to provide Electricians, highly experienced with multiple PLC software platforms, various network applications, multiphase power distribution and troubleshooting.

They also asked LEAD to provide Millwrights and a Safety Manager.

Recruiting Strategy

Post-meeting with client, LEAD recognized the need for and developed a strategy for attraction of high-level candidates with experience on multiple types of conveyor systems who illustrated competent operation of scissor and boom lifts and related mandatory safety equipment.

LEAD’s extensive experience with installation and maintenance of all conveyor system types allowed for availability of a diverse pool of talent in LEAD’s existing trade network.

Traditional recruiting methods would not be effective in this case.  Although not enunciated by the client, LEAD knew the project would have the best chance for success with candidates who previously did the same work in food processing or bottling plants.

Onboarding, Orientation and Training

Once LEAD’s stringent requirements were met, the candidates were subject to specific screening specifications defined by the client.

Collaborating closely with our client, a training program was developed to familiarize the electricians with the proprietary equipment at a level allowing the electricians not only to install, but also to troubleshoot.

Implementation of the training program was a combined effort and, with LEAD’s ongoing partnership throughout the project, all aspects of workforce management were successfully executed and is an everyday illustration of LEAD’s foundation of service excellence.
