What are you working toward?

Based on your work ethic, development and dedication to your role, with support from your local branch and job-site leadership, you will develop and strengthen your skill sets

We are seeking Shipfitter Class 1 and 2 to become part of our team!

Your responsibilities will include:

Assist with steel and structural work in all stages of repair and modernization of marine vessels.
Keep work area clean and safe at all times, especially at the end of the shift.
Prepare work area for hot work as directed by the supervisor or journeyman. Grind and prepare steel and aluminum for installation or succeeding task as directed by the supervisor or journeyman.
Assist with the construction of templates and fabrication of other structures.

Requirements for this role include:

Basic understanding of structural repair procedures and a strong aptitude and ability to follow directions. Understand basic knowledge of ship terminology, measurements and the ability to read job specifications and drawings.
Physically and medically capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Basic understanding of power and hand tools used for the shipfitting trade including mauls, grinders, circular and reciprocating saws and drills.
