SHIPFITTER HELPER JOB DESCRIPTION
The Shipfitter Helper assists skilled shipfitters in assembling, fabricating, and installing structural components on ships and other marine vessels. This role involves physical labor, the use of various tools and equipment, and strict adherence to safety protocols. The Shipfitter Helper plays a critical role in ensuring that shipbuilding and repair projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist shipfitters in measuring, cutting, and assembling structural components such as bulkheads, frames, and decks.
- Hold and secure materials during welding, cutting, or assembly processes.
- Operate basic tools and equipment, including grinders, saws, and pneumatic tools, under supervision.
