Shift: 1st Shift: 6am-6pm, 2nd Shift: 6pm-6am (Rotating swing shifts)
Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 an hour
SUMMARY:
LEAD Technical seeks a multi-craft Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our client in Tipton, IN for 1st and 2nd rotating swing shifts. The Maintenance Technician's responsibility within the Maintenance department is to provide outstanding customer service to the production and support groups in the plant through the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrading of plant processing, packaging, filling, and infrastructure systems. This position will NOT be the type of maintenance position where you sit in the shop waiting on a call. It will be 99% out on the floor being proactive while diagnosing, repairing, and performing PM on equipment and facilities.
This multi-craft Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLC’s, VFD’s, servos, complex safety controls, electro-pneumatics, modulating control valves, flowmeters, temperature transmitters, pressure transducers, level transmitters, etc, some with sophisticated control schemes.

PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:
- Maintain the plant in a safe and reliable condition in compliance with all applicable corporate, state, and federal codes.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic filling, cooking, packaging equipment, forklifts, and utilities.
- Making machine adjustments to mechanical and electrical systems for proper operation.
- Utilizing electrical/mechanical skills with utility systems.
- Ability to machine and weld parts, experience with reading blueprints, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, experience with pumps, motors and AC/DC drives, PLC/control system operations, and knowledge of the use of precision tools/instruments.
- Must be strong in control troubleshooting with some PLC programming ability and experience.
- Knowledge of boiler systems, sanitary welding, and any food manufacturing experience is a plus.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist, plan and provide preventive maintenance and line support as required for non-routine problems and issues.
- Troubleshoot equipment and system problems for manufacturing and facility equipment both routine and complex using a defined method of troubleshooting to get to the root cause; reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams both routine and complex as required.
- Fabricate and install mechanical and electronic equipment and perform program changes.
- Be engaged in safety, compliance, continuous improvement and Good
- Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as a routine part of their job responsibilities; follow all department and plant procedures.
- Support the Maintenance Director through writing and closing work orders by utilizing the current CMMS and through effective use of the stockroom system.
- Complete all training as scheduled and perform cross-training and other work-related duties as assigned; provide training including OJT to other employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- 3+ years of industrial/preventative maintenance experience.
- Willing to work flexible/variable schedules per plant needs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience with conveyor maintenance.
- Experience with boilers, industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Experience with industrial maintenance and electrical controls.
- Some experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley).
- Experience with PLC’s, VFD’s, servos, complex safety controls, electro-pneumatics, modulating control valves, flowmeters, temperature transmitters, pressure transducers, level transmitters, etc., some with sophisticated control schemes that our multi-craft technicians are responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and maintaining.
