1st Shift – 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
2nd Shift – 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Lead Marine has immediate openings for Insulator/Laggers Helpers for the Shipyard Industry here in San Diego on 1st & 2nd Shift. This skilled manufacturing position is responsible for removing and reinstalling hull and pipe insulation for repairs to ships and boats in the U.S. Navy, U.S Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command (MSC), and commercial vessels. They must be able to complete and execute the assigned work tasks following regulatory specifications assigned to the vessel.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to remove and reinstall hull and pipe insulation.
- Must be able to remove and reinstall ships hardware and ventilation systems.
- Build hazardous environment containments and install negative ventilation.
- Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces.
Requirements:
- Must have the ability to remove and reinstall pipe covering and insulation per 009-11
- Must have the ability to identify, remove and reinstall interferences per 009-23
- Must have the ability to measure, remove, build new and reinstall insulation pads per 009-11
- Must have the ability to measure, remove and reinstall hull insulation on commercial and US Navy ships
- Applies caulking compound under spray rails, windshields, and around windows, using a caulking gun.
- Must understand and follow manufacturer's SDS and Product Data Sheet (PDS)
- Other duties may be assigned.
