1st Shift – 6:00am – 2:30pm
Lead Marine has immediate openings for Marine/Navy Mechanics in the San Diego Naval Shipyard Industry. Must have navy repair/marine mechanic or prior military experience. Must be DBIDs Badge eligible to gain access to Naval Bases.
Responsibilities:
- Must have at least 4 years of naval ship mechanical experience, preferably on fire suppression systems and damage control systems.
- Install, adjust, set and repair or replace various control. Regulating or safety devices such as meters, gauges, valves, governors and automatic alarms. Test or assist in testing of shipboard machinery.
- Lays out passage holes on bulkheads, decks, and other surfaces for connections, for example shafting and steam lines.
- Must have knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items applicable to position
- Manage and ensure that daily required tasks are completed on time and in a safe manner.
- Detect and locate grounds, open circuits and short circuits in distribution generators and systems. Maintain and repair telephones, circuits, and associated equipment.
- Install new power and lighting circuits.
Requirements:
- Prior Naval experience a plus
- Utilize smart device applications to manage / schedule inspection documentation.
- Complete all required paperwork and upload to database.
- Document required deficiencies and items required for repair.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and schematics.
- Valve & auxiliary maintenance/repair
- Candidates must be able to work as part of a team and may be asked to work weekends and overtime.
