Plant Administrative Specialist
Position Type: Full-time, Contract to Direct Hire (90 days)
Salary Range: $20 to $23 per hour, DOE.
Location: Tipton, IN 46072
Position Summary:
LEAD Technical has partnered with a well-established manufacturer and seeks a dynamic and customer-focused professional with strong organizational skills to join our team as a Plant Administrative Specialist. As a Plant Administrative Specialist at LEAD Technical, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the efficient operation of the plant by providing comprehensive administrative assistance to the Plant Superintendent, Plant Management, and Human Resources. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of administrative assistant experience, display above-average proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), and maintain confidentiality with integrity. Proactive decision-making, multitasking, and a commitment to customer service are essential qualities. A college degree is preferred but required. Regular responsibilities include preparing and maintaining confidential company documents, handling phone calls/emails, working with production teammates and providing operations and documentation support for managers.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Production Scheduling and Support:
  • Review production needs and schedule runs as directed by the Superintendent.
  • Assign products for production runs on specific days.
  • Prepare schedules and communicate changes to relevant teams promptly.
  • Update process time sheets.
Assistant to Plant Superintendent:
  • Schedule meetings and draft communications for plant TV.
  • Maintain room usage schedule, organize meetings, and prevent double bookings.
  • Prepare various documents, including letters and communication pieces.
  • Handle advanced Excel work, including vlookups, functions, and data manipulation.
  • Represent plant leadership professionally and maintain confidentiality.
  • Answer phones and welcome visitors.
  • Print labels and necessary production paperwork.
  • Manage inventory and stock.
  • Complete the Yield reports.
Human Resources:
  • Maintain confidentiality with managers and employees.
  • Collect new hire paperwork and send it to corporate HR for processing.
  • Record absences, tardies, vacation days, and other HR-related data.
  • Coordinate monthly training for employees.
  • Review and forward disciplinary actions to supervisors and managers.
  • Process requests for time off, schedule changes, and terminations.
  • Administer the bonus program and maintain necessary records.
Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Proficient in data entry into proprietary databases.
  • Accurate and fast typing skills.
  • Ability to create and manipulate data in electronic spreadsheet format.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent time management and people skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving experience.
  • A high school diploma and administrative experience at a minimum. An AS or BS degree is preferred.
