Job Description:  CNC Machinist
Pay:  $25 to $32 per hour
Location:  Chattanooga, TN

CNC Machinist Job Summary:
A CNC Machinist operates computer-controlled machinery to create precision parts and components for various industries. They are responsible for setting up, programming, and monitoring CNC machines to ensure the production of high-quality parts according to engineering specifications.
Responsibilities:
  1. Machine Setup:
    1. Prepare and set up CNC machines, including loading raw materials and securing workpieces.
    2. Install and align tooling, fixtures, and workholding devices.
  2. Programming:
    1. Create or modify CNC programs using computer software or input codes to specify machining processes.
    2. Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  3. Machine Operation:
    1. Operate CNC machines to perform milling, turning, grinding, or other machining operations.
    2. Monitor machine performance, making adjustments as needed to maintain product quality and tolerances.
  4. Quality Control:
    1. Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
    2. Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to correct deviations.
  5. Maintenance:
    1. Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
    2. Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.
  6. Safety Compliance:
    1. Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
    2. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
CNC Machinist Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical certification in CNC machining is preferred.
  2. Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role.
  3. Proficiency in CNC programming and the use of CNC machine controls.
  4. Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
  5. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  6. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality parts.
  7. Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  8. Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to them.
  9. Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials.
